A Tirade for Respsonsibility

I copied this after posting it as a comment on a friend's blog. Chris said he was nauseus after talking about a political fundraiser and slamming Rudy Gulianni for a while on his blog....

Good thing you support liberals Chris. As you are suffering your nausea, you can have hope that the Democratic Party wins and move to make the government responsible for everyone's health care. It'll be more handouts for the listless masses who don't want to take the effort to provide for themselves.

It would be a great world if eeryone simply took responsbility for their choices instead of asking for help and handouts.

Those on drugs, did someone hold a gun to your head and make you start doing them?

Those without jobs, did you finish school? Have you applied for jobs every day?

Those needing welfare assistance to pay for your children, did you consider how you were going to pay for this child before you decided to f***?

Those who built your homes below sea level in New Orleans, duh! Those who build on hurricane-prone coastlines. If you can't afford the insurance, don't build there.

Those who want to live here, did you follow the procedures to legally enter the country and apply for permission to work and live here?

Those who can't make rent, food, utilities, did you first purchase tobacco, alcohol, lottery tickets?

It is so simple to ask, but so much harder to do. Take responsibility for your own choices.

We are doing a constitution class at a local Freedom library with our high schooler for home school. The democrats are so far away from the constitution its crazy we even got this far in our country with their party around...

I still am unsure of who to vote for but it won't be dems that's for sure!

I am so sick of every side making promises and trying to make people happy, I may change sides and I am a Republican. I dont like political posts, Michael knows this. I know this post can come across the wrong way. But when you are constantly surrounded by people who make choices that effect the rest of us, it makes you mad. I tend to be compassionate and want to help those in need, even those who may not have made the wrong choice but at the same time, its hard. Mind you all of my family lives in a hurricane prone area and I know a lot of my family cant afford the insurance.

Welcome Mr. Mayor, and Thank You. That is Thank You assuming you are the one who told the Mets to throw away a 7 game lead with 17 games left in the season resulting in

THE PHILLIES BEING IN FIRST PLACE IN THE NL EAST!!!!!!

I don't get to much into politics. One thing I never do is tell whether or not I am a Democrate or Repulican.
That is something that I learned from my mother in law.
I do figure that there are good and evilness on both sides...

Being the a military wife for 13 years I have seen and heard so many political discussions to last me a lifetime.

I too tend to shy away from them. But I do know what I believe. I just don't shout it like a lot of people do. I feel that is for me and me alone to know....

Great post!

I was brought up in a very conservative republican household...a lot of what you say here is echoed in my family's beliefs.

While I know that there are plenty of people who truly NEED help (my sister is one of them ~ she found herself suddenly unable to walk due to back problems and she is now confined to a wheelchair unable to work), there are also a lot of people who made choices that have lead them to where they are right now. My sister, if given the choice, would change her situation in a heartbeat. She would much rather be able to walk and work than be the way she is today.

I agree that we shouldn't have to bail out people who have made bad choices that have caused them to have problems...but I also believe in second chances. Herein lies my conflicted feelings. There HAS to be a better way than just handing people things to make their life easier. Plus, there are so many people who "play the system" and do so at the expense of those who are hardworking and trying to do right for themselves and their children.

Okay...enough said. Hope you feel better getting some of what you needed to off your chest. Blogs are great for that!
