Life Lesson of the Day

This was discovered the hard way (if you know what I mean).

When you look at the container of tartar sauce in the fridge and it says Best By 9/20/07, take that as a "USE BY" meaning throw it out. It you take it to mean, it will be slightly less tasty than before 9/20/07, you may regret it.

Thanks for the warning!

Yes, it says BEST by, but you really don't want tartar sauce at less than its best! Hope there are no lasting "issues!"

Yuck ~ I use tartar sauce rarely...I do like it on fish, but I can't imagine how bad bad tartar sauce would taste.

Hope it wasn't too awful.

I so did not know that about tartar sauce. I will have to check the date on the one I have in the fridge. It's been there for about 3 months!

Poor Lucy (the Bassett Hound). She likes to lick plates when we're done (no matter what we were eating, and yes we wash them in the dishwasher afterwards) and she had a very upset stomach Tuesday night as well. :(

When I think of the stuff we ate growing up, I'm surprised I'm still alive. My parents kept stuff forever!
