Ten Great Moments in My Country's History

July 4, 1776 - Deciding the rule of a monarch an ocean away was not gonna work, our founding fathers decided to make this our country.

1860's - A resolute president struggels to keep the union intact. A great price is paid, but we remain the world power we are because of that sacrifice.

Summer of 1969 - Humans land on the Moon, another President with a vision.

January 15, 1971 - Valtool is born

September 11, 2001 - We stood right back up when we were knocked down.

June 25, 1944 - Normandy invasion. The USA leads the allied forces in the invasion of France to push back the German aggressors.

January 17, 1991 - The United States military comes to the defense of the nation of Kuwait to free the Arab nation from the Iraqi army's invasion.

April 12, 1981 - NASA launches the first reusable manned spacecraft, the space shuttle Columbia on STS-1

1803 - The Louisiana Purchase - we buy 828,000 square miles of land for 15 million dollars in cash and forgiven debts.

February 1980 - a group of college kids defeat Russia and Finland to win the Olympic gold medal in ice hockey.

Great Answers! I can't believe I forgot 02/1980. I have been on the ice where that happened. Amazing stuff!
