A father and his teenage son were shot and killed here in Atlanta yesterday over "candy money."
Someone came to their apartment and wanted to rob them of their cash. The suspect knew there was cash there because it was known that the family was running a miniature convenience store from their place.
Am I wrong to think that if these people had not been breaking the law in running a store without a license and without paying taxes that their husband and son might be alive today?
Also, from what I've been told by members of the law enforcement community, this type of "business" is not uncommon among people who were not born in the United States, do not have the legal right to be here, and typically come from countries located South of the United States.
