Some perspective. I received the drill as a birthday gift from my brother Tim. He and his wife Mery were agahast to learn that we have been homeowners for 3 and a half years and do not own a drill.

The baby gate is more than an early preperation for LynnMarie who is still years away from due. We bought some baby gates 2 years ago to help keep Lucy in the family room and kitchen. They stuck in place by pressure, and Lucy learned to repeatedly run at them and knock them down with her body weight.

These new gates can be installed by pressure too, and they seem stronger than the originals, but they also come with mounting kits so they can lock in place, and open up to swing on a hinge.

It took the drill to be able to mount them, and that is what I worked on WHILE also making ziti tonight. In all fairness, Amy helped with some elements of ziti prep, but glory be, the gate is up and Lucy will not be crashing through and running upstairs to terrorize cats and eat cat food!

Aha! Those are great gates, and that is about the manliest of many drills as I have ever seen!

Very manly, indeed. I'm impressed.

Hehe, why do I hear grunting ala The Tool Man? Did you motorize the gate? ;-)

Happy WW :-)
