Random Toughts

For those who may be curious, last week I wrote about a Southern expression "Your cotton is low" and asked if anyone knew the meaning. I know it, from a Southern Literature class, but I could find no reference to it through google.

The expression was used as a polite way to inform a lady that her slip was showing. Of course I don't know that many women even wear slips in this day and age, but that's what it meant.

Last night Sixteen Candles was on TV. It's a great 80's movie. I maintain a 2nd blog, dedicated to music videos from the 80's. You can visit it at www.rockingthe80s.blogspot.com and please comment on videos if you liked them back then, or never saw them before, and I need requests for Fridays. It's a day I leave to my viewers, but have only had 2 or 3 requests since I started the blog. But back to the movie. I found it hilarious that when Farmer Ted goes to his friend's house to have them document him having the Rolls Royce and the prom queen, they are takng the picture using a Polarois camera, but they are USING A TRIPOD!

That makes perfect sense! I actually have been wondering about that phrase all week. I bet my grandmother would have known what it meant!
