Top 10 Sports Movies

So last night at trivia we had a very debatable final question. What makes it debatable is that the lists vary in great ways, and I had some answers that make neither list.

The final question last night was to name the 10 movies on the AFI list of Best Sports Movies. I made my 10 guesses and I had 4 right and 6 wrong, so I lost 6 points.

Here is the Sports Illustrated Top 10...
1. Bull Durham (1988)
2. Raging Bull (1980)
3. Rocky (1976)
4. Hoosiers (1988)
5. Body and Soul (1947)
6. The Hustler (1961)
7. Chariots of Fire (1981)
8. Requiem for a Heavyweight (1962)
9. Slap Shot (1977)
10. Jerry Maguire (1996)

Here is the AFI Top 10

You'll notice a few common films on both lists, including Raging Bull, Rocky, Hoosiers, Bull Durham, The Hustler, and Jerry Maguire. They have 6 in common. Of those 6, I had 3 on my list.

My list, this being what I thought the AFI would say was this (not in a numbered order)..
1. Raging Bull
2. Rocky
3. Caddyshack
4. Bull Durham
Note these were the 4 I had that matched the AFI Top 10. The other 6 which were not on their list were....
5. Slapshot (which was on the SI list)
6. Chariots of Fire (which WON the BEST PICTURE Academy Award).
7. Field of Dreams
8. The Natural
9. Rudy
10. Miracle

Granted I should have thought of Hoosiers, because it's really the only serious basketball movie. I would factor in Leage of Their Own, Major League, and For Love of the Game as well as Tin Cup if I was to make a Valtool's Top 10 or 20 Sports Films
