Actually they are BOTH cardinals. The one on the left (bright red) is the male. We have at least one male and two females in our yard on a regular basis and this afternoon I caught the two of them on the feeder.
My first thought was, ooh, there's my Wordless Wednesday!
That's a great shot of those two birds. Happy WW! http://happywonderer.wordpress.com/2007/10/23/ww-tuesday-edition-homecoming-1966-montebello-high-school/
I love this picture. Every now and then I see a Red bird in my yard, but usually it's just Robins.
Mine's up....underneath a very loooong education carnival post. :)
I have a new look over there and at Georgia On My Mind as well. I sent out emails to Georgia bloggers regarding it, but I don't have your email....our next carnival posts this Friday. Submissions are due tomorrow by 6.
Thank you Valerie. My wife (who you know quite well) bought me a very nice camera. That was shot from inside the family room, through a window. The bird feeder is outside of the kitchen doors.

Ahhhhhhhhh. How cute is this. We feed the birds/hummingbirds here too. Have a great WW. :)
He hopes she doesn't notice she's tipping the feeder!
Makes me miss living near the forest. Now our bird feeders and their hangers just sit in a forgotten corner of our garage.
Cardinals!! My all time favorite.
I love to have mommy and daddy cardinal come to my feeder! This is a great picture!
This shot makes me want to remind my kids to whisper. I don't want to scare them! What a great capture!
