This may be old news, but I saw it first today and I have to make a comment about it. I turned on the TV and found that FOX was covering a game I decided I wanted to see, the Phillies playing in San Francisco.
The name of the team in San Francisco is the Giants.
Baseball was created in the United States of America.
English is the official language of the United States of America.
The San Francisco Giants are wearing jerseys that read "Gigantes."
What the HELL is this about?
Follow-up (Sunday) : I read online that the Gigantes was some form of recognition of Cinco de Mayo. As this is a celebration created by the alcohol industry (though based on a battle between Mexico and France) I stand on my point that this is not appropriate for MLB to be involved in. Will they have Cyrillic for the Oktoberist Revolution in Russia? Will they have French for Bastille Day? I loathe the politically correct world we live in.
