Saturday Photo Hunt #19 - Flexible
It's less obvious depending on the angle and the light, but my burgundy Jeep now has a Forrest Green driver's door. I had to have the door replaced because it would not close. I wanted to do it in the cheapest possible way because at this point cosmetics do not matter. The Jeep is a 1995 model (so now 13 model years old) and is 400 miles shy of 180,000. My hope is to get another 2-3 years out of it before buying a new vehicle, so I can live with a green door as long as it gets me from point A to point B safely. As for the theme, it demonstrates that I am flexible about my vehicle if it means saving money as I could have paid to have it painted, but did not.

You sound a lot like my husband. Our cars are usually kept til they've got 200,000 miles plus on them.

Happy Weekend!
It pays to be flexible sometimes. Great choice.
Exactly how I feel! If it gets you to point A to point B,... doesn't matter what it looks like. Have a good weekend and keep being flexible.
hehe you are flexible!I agree better safe..I didnt notice it at the first photos too.great idea for this week theme.. :)
thats being very flexible indeed :)
I salute you :) That's really being flexible. We have to especially now that times are hard. Happy hunting :)
Not only flexible but practical as well: easier to find the right door after a few drinks ;-)
Great idea for the hunt! :) This week is my first photo hunt, come check it out if you get a chance. Have a great weekend!
oh cool you have a one of a kind:>
That's a nice looking jeep. Of course, since its a jeep its totally ok to have a mis-matched parts - just tell 'em it was an off-roading accident ;-0
Frigga - I'd say go for the Mustang and enjoy it while you're young. I can't play up the off-roading thing much as it's a basic V6 - not even a 4x4. I bought it when I lived in Florida, where it's very flat, and as I have no need to haul anything (boat, waverunner, etc) there really was no need for the 4 wheel drive. Now this winter if we get an ice storm I will not be able to get up to the store from the road because we are on a hill about 30 feet above the roadway. :)
