The Phillies beat the Braves tonight (5-2) and the Mets lost to the Nationals (9-6)!
What this means.....
The Phillies are basically out of the playoff picture (unless they win every one of their remaning games and the Mets and Padres lose all of their remaining games (and the Phillies and one or two other teams).
After two years of coming VERY close, the Phillies may make the post-season this year.

Um, yay. go team ;-)
I don't watch a whole lot of baseball ~ probably because the Pirates stink and I tend to root for our hometown teams. I did LOVE going to games at Three Rivers Stadium as a kid, though. I have such fond memories of that. :)
Post-season is when it gets really exciting!
Frigga - yeah, I'm happy right now that we have you working on movies. Don't worry about sports, and YES you get credit for commenting no matter what the content.
There was a time when exciting games happened in TRS, I guess back in the day of Willie Stargill. They mentioned Tuesday that the time of year has its effect as you don't see them passing out rally towels to wave in May.
Not so much a sports fan, but I'm happy that your happy.
WHOOOHOOO! Hope they make it.
Where I grew up Baseball was a HUGE thing. I grew up 15 minutes from where Johnny Bench was born and lived.
Oh man, the Tigers are out of it :(
I don't really watch baseball much .... but I think I heard the Boston Red Sox were doing great! Go Sox! :)
Uhm, now is that football or baseball? I'm not the sports type really...
